Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) Foundation Welcomes New Board Member

Lakewood Ranch, Fla., Sept. 11, 2020 —The Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) Foundation welcomes Dr. Cherylle Hayes of Gainesville, Florida as their newest board member.

A Board-certified radiation oncologist with over 20 years’ experience, Dr. Hayes is the medical director at North Florida Regional Medical Center, where she was instrumental in the development of a cancer program. As a member of the radiation oncology executive committee at Sarah Cannon Research Institute, Dr. Hayes works with physicians across the country to develop clinical pathways for the delivery of radiation oncology. Dr. Hayes has served on the boards of many community organizations in Central Florida, including the American Cancer Society, the Advisory Board of Gainesville Health and Fitness and the Gainesville Theater of Performing Arts. She is active in numerous local and national professional societies.

“Dr. Hayes is an outstanding physician and has a special interest in cancer survivorship and quality of life issues,” said FCS Foundation Board Chairman Dr. Michael Diaz. “She will be a tremendous asset to the FCS Foundation Board and our efforts to assist patients who are undergoing cancer treatment.”

Lynn Rasys, executive director of the FCS Foundation, added, “Dr. Hayes has been instrumental in the success of the annual Lyrics for Life fundraising event in Gainesville during the past three years, and we are grateful for her willingness to serve in this leadership role on the FCS Foundation Board.”

Due to the generosity of the Florida Cancer Specialists physicians in covering all overhead expenses for the Foundation, 100% of donations received go directly toward paying the essential non-medical living expenses of an adult battling cancer.
